Alegre Environmental has provided stormwater compliance and Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) services at the 3Roots San Diego development for more than five years.

Located in the Mira Mesa community of San Diego, 3Roots is a major master-planned development encompassing approximately 413 acres on the site of a former sand and gravel mining operation. The redevelopment includes residential and commercial neighborhoods, significant roadway and utility infrastructure, parks and trails, creek restoration, and extensive open-space areas.

Supporting a project of this size and duration requires consistent field oversight, communication and regulatory documentation as construction activities, ownership and individual development areas evolve.

Alegre Environmental’s services at 3Roots have included ongoing QSP inspections and stormwater compliance oversight, storm-event monitoring and documentation, coordination with project teams, SWPPP-related regulatory support, and preparation and processing of Change of Information documentation associated with changes in property ownership and project responsibility.

Throughout more than five years of Alegre Environmental’s involvement, the project has maintained stormwater compliance without violations from the Regional Water Quality Control Board.

The 3Roots project demonstrates Alegre Environmental’s ability to provide long-term environmental compliance support for large, complex, multi-phase developments, from active grading and infrastructure construction through changing ownership, individual development phases and continuing buildout.
